The mats are backed with SBR rubber, which contains 20% post-consumer recycled rubber from car tires. This ensures the rubber will not crack or curl, allowing the mat to lie flat and remain in place. The Diamond pattern, with its rubber border (sometimes referred to as a "classic" border), is the standard WaterHog Diamond design.

The PET fabric offers the same great benefits as polypropylene, including durability, fade and stain resistance, and quick drying, while being made from post-consumer recycled plastic drink bottles. This initiative helps keep plastic bottles out of our oceans and landfills.

The transition from polypropylene to PET began in 2018, and by early 2019, most of M+A Matting's most popular colors were made with PET. By the end of 2019, all colors will be made with PET, and the product listings will be updated accordingly. Even though many listings may still mention polypropylene, the mat you receive will more than likely be made with PET.
