The mats are backed with SBR rubber, which contains 20% post-consumer recycled rubber from car tires, ensuring they will not crack or curl and will lie flat.

The Diamond pattern on these mats is the standard, WaterHog Diamond design with a rubber border, sometimes referred to as a "classic" border. In an ongoing effort to be good stewards of the environment, M+A Matting is transitioning all of its 24-ounce polypropylene mats to 24-ounce PET (polyethylene terephthalate). The PET fabric provides the same great benefits as polypropylene, including durability, fade and stain resistance, and quick drying, but it is made from post-consumer recycled plastic drink bottles. By purchasing a product made with recycled PET, you are helping to keep dozens of plastic bottles out of our oceans and landfills.

The transition from polypropylene to PET began in 2018, and by early 2019, most of M+A's most popular colors were made with PET. All colors will be made with PET by the end of 2019, and the product listings will be updated accordingly. Until then, even though many listings may still say polypropylene, the mat you receive will more than likely be made with PET.
