At M+A Matting, the company is dedicated to being good stewards of the environment. As a result, they are in the process of transitioning all of their 24-ounce polypropylene mats to 24-ounce PET (polyethylene terephthalate) fabric. The PET fabric provides the same great benefits as polypropylene, including durability, fade and stain resistance, and quick drying, but it is made from post-consumer recycled plastic drink bottles. By purchasing a product made with recycled PET, you are helping to keep dozens of plastic bottles out of our oceans and landfills.

The transition from polypropylene to PET began in 2018, with most of the company's most popular colors made with PET by early 2019. All colors will be made with PET by the end of 2019, and the product listings will be updated accordingly. Until then, even though many listings still say polypropylene, the mat you receive will most likely be made with PET.

The WaterHog mats are designed to effectively stop dirt at the door. The bi-level surface effectively scrapes dirt and moisture from shoes, trapping it beneath shoe level to prevent tracking. The water dam border holds moisture, keeping it off your floors, and the WaterHog mats can hold up to 1 ½ gallons of water per square yard.

Additionally, the WaterHog mats are designed with safety in mind. The beveled edges provide a safe transition from floor to mat, and the mats are certified high-traction by the National Floor Safety Institute (NFSI).

All WaterHog mats are Prop 65 compliant and manufactured in the USA. The 3' x 5' mat measures approximately 35" x 58", but please note that the mat sizes are approximate as rubber shrinks and expands in conjunction with temperature and time, with a tolerable manufacturing size variance of 3-5%.
